Description: The survival standard is our most popular course and it teaches people who are new to the survival community the most important basic skills in a wilderness survival situation. Shelter, Water, Fire, Food, Tools, & Navigation! Let me be clear that our survival courses are not designed to teach you how to get out of the woods, but how to live in them. If you can live in the woods then you have no fear of getting lost in them. This is the first of 3 wilderness survival standard courses that will slowly transition you from doing skills in isolation in our camp, to a full blown expert survivalist that is capable of living completely off the land. The survival standard is very comprehensive and covers a multitude of different subjects about wilderness survival with and without modern equipment. This class is very intensive and is almost entirely hands on with very little lecture time. Most of the five days will actually be spent doing physical work and you will practice building and using all the skills/items listed below. This course is the first step in learning how to be completely self reliant in the wilderness and by completing our entire wilderness survival standard program you will quickly become a completely self reliant survival expert! Check our Wilderness Survival Certification page for more info on becoming certified through SIGMA 3 Survival School.Skills Sets Taught include:
-Building primitive shelters Hot and Cold weather shelter, wet weather shelter; Modified Debris Hut/A frame Platform Debris Bed; Emergency shelters that can be constructed quickly

Description: The advanced standard course takes the skills from the Basic Standard Course and builds on them to enable the survivor to have more skill sets in order to increase their bushcraft comfort and understanding. This is the second class in the Wilderness Survival Certification Series and is a difficult class in itself because of the demands put on the student. The course is 100% taught in the field with hands on training and there is no class room lecture time at all! This course is a transition course that will begin to test your survival skills and take your basic skill sets to a whole other level. The purpose of the wilderness survival standard courses is to slowly transition you into being able to live completely off the land and this will be the first taste of actually putting these skills you’ve learned to the test in a real survival scenario.
